Which Moomin tea should I try first?
Moomin Sweetheart is the classic starting point: a black tea with wild strawberry and real strawberry pieces. If you would rather taste several before picking a favourite, an assortment such as Moomin Besties or Seasons Tastes the Moomin Way holds a range of flavours in one box.
Which Moomin teas are caffeine-free?
Moomin Chamomile & Mint and Moomin Forest Berry & Hibiscus are naturally caffeine-free, as is the rooibos assortment All Things Fun Are Good For Your Tummy. Those are the ones to reach for in the evening or when the whole family is having a cup. The black tea blends do contain caffeine.
Are these official Moomin teas?
Yes. Nordqvist has blended Moomin teas under official licence for years, and every blend is made and packed at our own factory in Finland. The artwork on each pack comes from Tove Jansson's original Moomin world.
Should I choose tea bags, a loose-leaf tin, or an assortment box?
Tea bags are quickest for everyday cups and for the office. Loose leaf gives a fuller flavour and lets you set the strength yourself, and the tins look good on a shelf and can be refilled. An assortment is the best choice for a gift, or if you are still deciding which flavour is yours.
How do I brew and store Moomin tea so it keeps its flavour?
Brew the black tea blends at around 95 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes, and the herbal and rooibos blends at 100 degrees for 5 to 8 minutes. Rooibos will not turn bitter if you leave it longer. Store tea in an airtight tin away from light, heat and strong smells and it will hold its aroma until the best-before date on the pack.
