Recycling Instructions

For Nordqvist, responsibility in environmental matters is of utmost importance and we are rapidly moving towards more ecological material options. For example, we have begun to use paper wrapping on some of our teabag products instead of plastic wrapping. Work to promote ecology at Nordqvist continues, but to ensure product safety, we wish to make our material choices with care and consideration.

Nordqvist Hot and Cold teas and Christmas calendar teas are packaged in a plastic-free pyramid bag made of biodegradable corn starch pulp. The other Nordqvist teabags are made of biodegradable wood fibre.

All our tea bags are plastic-free - they do not contain any micro- or nano-plastics.

Recycling teabag packaging:

Nordqvist’s teabag packaging is made of cardboard and they can either be burnt or sorted in cardboard recycling.

Recycling teabag wrappers:

Some of Nordqvist’s teabag wrappers are made of material that is mainly paper and small amount of plastic. They can be disposed of by either burning or recycling them together with general household waste.

The teabag wrappers in Moomin-products that contain aluminium are sorted as a plastic recycling. The second option is to dispose the packaging together with general household waste, where it will be incinerated and utilised as energy.

Recycling leaf tea packaging:

The plastic leaf tea packaging is sorted as a plastic recycling. The second option is to dispose the packaging together with general household waste, where it will be incinerated and utilised as energy.
